MNP Solutions:Over 17 Lakh Mobile Subscribers Switch To Other Operators Via MNP : TRAI

With in 15 days of the Pan India roll-out of Mobile Number Portability (MNP) service, about 17.11 lakh mobile subscribers (GSM and CDMA) have opted for the MNP facility which allows users to change their service provider while retaining the mobile Number.
The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) today issue the Zone/Circle wise status of Mobile Number Portability.
As per the reported data, till 5th February, 2011, about 17.11 lakh subscribers have submitted their requests to different service providers for porting their mobile number.
Out of these requests, around 2.29 lakh pertains to Haryana Service area wherein MNP was implemented earlier.
In rest of the country, in Zone-I (Northern & Western Region) maximum number of requests have been received in Gujarat (1.67 lakhs) followed by Rajasthan (1.44 lakhs) whereas in MNP Zone-II (Southern & Eastern Region) maximum number of requests have been received in Karnataka (1.16 lakh) followed by Tamilnadu service area (1.14 lakh).
TRAI is constantly monitoring the implementation of MNP in the country.Based on the complaints and feedback received, TRAI has instructed the service providers to strictly comply with the provisions of MNP Regulations.
It has been noted that certain port-in requests were rejected by the service providers. The major reasons for rejections are – incorrect Unique Porting Code submitted by subscriber in the porting form, non-completion of 90 days from the date of activation of mobile number, existing contractual obligation and non-payment of outstanding bill.
Subscribers are required to be careful on the below mentioned aspects of MNP:
(a) Incorrect Unique Porting Code submitted by subscriber in the porting form: Unique Porting Code is a 8 digit code generated by the Donor operator when a subscriber sends an SMS to 1900. First two characters of the Unique Porting Code are Alphabets (denoting the service provider code and service area code) and remaining 6 digits are numerical characters except numeric ‘0’ (zero). This Unique Porting Code should be filled in the Porting form without any error. Before submitting the porting request, subscribers should match the actual Unique Porting Code received by SMS, with the Unique Porting Code they have entered in the porting form so that there is no chance of any error.
(b) Non-completion of 90 days: The subscriber is eligible for porting only if he has completed 90 days from the activation of the existing mobile connection or last porting date of mobile number which ever is applicable. The subscribers may ensure the same before applying for porting.
(c) Subsisting contractual obligations: The Donor operator can reject a porting request if there are subsisting contractual obligations in respect of which an exit clause has been provided in the subscriber agreement but the subscriber has not complied with such exit clause.
(d) Non-payment of out standing bill : Donor Operator can reject a porting request if there are outstanding payments due from the subscriber by way of pending bill or bills, as the case may be before the date of application for porting. Therefore subscribers must ensure that their last bill is fully paid before applying for porting. They should also attach a copy of the paid bill receipt while applying for porting.
In order to avoid rejections of their porting requests, subscribers are advised to read the eligibility conditions carefully before submitting a porting request.

Videocon 0p/Sec offer or Videocon zero paisa/Sec Offer,Videocon 0p/sec,Videocon 0p/sec Offer Campaign

Videocon Mobiles, one of the new entrants in Indian mobile services industry, has been bidding adieu to 1p/sec tariff with its By-Bye 1p/sec campaign. The teaser ad with fun element of ‘may your soul rest in peace ‘(indicating the demise of 1p/sec tariff) announced that Videocon mobile is bringing something revolutionary which will change the telecom tariff landscape.
Now it’s revealed that, the new jargon called “Zero paisa/Sec” has been added to telecom lexicon. This “zero paisa ” attracts the attention and builds huge excitement but in reality its not that huge as the name suggests.

Videocon has actually bundled some free minutes (own network & other network) for long duration (6 months & 1 year) with few of the handsets without charging anything for that. This bundled free minutes offer has been christened as “Zero paisa/Sec “. In other words free minutes are being taken as Zero paisa/Sec.
This move is more of a discovery of new jargon than anything else because every other operator has one or other free offers. What Videocon has done is coined a new term for the same. But the good thing is that there is no hidden condition or anything like that and the validity periods are sufficiently long.
Currently the Talk @Zero p/sec offer is available with  7 Videocon mobile handsets. Details are as given below:

1.  10 mins local calls to any network Free DAILY for 6 months:  This offer is available with  V202 and V1292 models
2. 10 Mins Local calls to any network FREE DAILY for 1 Year: With  V1404, V1428, V 1676
3.  30 mins Local calls to any network FREE DAILY for 1 Year + Unlimited calls to Videocon Local Numbers FREE DAILY for 1 Year :   This offer is with High end Android Models V7400 & V7500 (Zeus)

byebye1p.com Bye Bye 1 p/sec Videocon offer 0 paisa/sec.Viseocon 0 paise per second,

I just saw a very appealing array of advertisements on TV while watching a popular show  during commercial break.. The commercials paid condolences to 1p/s call tarrif in a very innovative and creative way..

The commercial just talked about paying condolences to the 1p per second and didn’t explained what it was actually about (ofcourse it has to be about something).. It just shows this website address at the end of the comercial http://ByeBye1p.com
Even on the website there was nothing else other than paying condolences  to 1p/s.. I looked everywhere.. then I foundthis little link of Terms and Conditions by reading which I came to know the site belongs to Videocon Telecommunications Limited.. But that also wasn’t enough info..
So I did what I always do to solve my quests.. I goOgled.. and found out that this is a campaign started by Videocon to promote its GSM services already launched in 10 circles and soon to be expanded to all 22 circles across India.
Videocon also have a beautiful.. literally beautiful website up and running http://ByeBye1p.com to pay the condolences to the 1p per second call tarrifs which definitely means videocon is gonna bring some even cheaper call rates..They already have a 25p per minute local and STD calls Special tarrif Voucher (STV17) in Mumbai Circle.. Now that’s an awfully cheap tarrif..

UPDATE: On the website there is also an option to guess “Who will succeed the 1p/sec” and win an Android phone.
Have you also seen the Ads?? What do you say about it??

Airtel MNP Offer – How to Switch to Airtel under Mobile Number Portability

After several repeated and loud voices on 3G tariffs affordability and the new brand identity launch, now airtel is also sprinkling this same flavor in the MNP launch in Haryana too, quietly airtel has launched the MNP offer for the customers of Haryana wherein customers from other operators can join the family of operator of your choice.
Except BSNL and TATA DOCOMO, airtel too like Videocon is offering no special offers as such to excite or say lure the customers to welcome them instead airtel is leveraging big on its advantages of its group rather than offering customers with great set of affordable tariff packs which actually matters the customers.
With the launch of MNP by airtel, one can move in to airtel to both of its Prepaid as well as postpaid services.
Procedure to migrate your existing number to airtel:
  • First as usual, you need to generate UPC (Unique Porting Code) by sending SMS to 1900. UPC is an alphanumeric code allocated, upon request, by a mobile operator to its subscriber for the purpose of facilitation of porting of his/her mobile number to another operator. For this you need to sms, PORT <your Mobile Number> to 1900. Eg. SMS PORT 90680 12345 to 1900
  • Now, after sending SMS to 1900, you will receive UPC (Unique Porting Code) as a return SMS from 1901 giving 8 digit alpha-numeric Unique Porting Code (UPC) and UPC expiry date in MM/DD/YYYY format.
  • Now, after this you need to visit airtel gallery or airtel lobby and you will need to fill in the airtel Mobile Number Porting (MNP) form providing details like Current Mobile Number, Current Operator name along with UPC code which you have received in the form of sms.
  • Now, you will have to buy the airtel MNP SIM card from airtel outlet by paying Rs. 19 towards the MNP charges and also along the appropriate FRC amount.
  • After paying the MNP charges,  airtel will send an SMS on your old/existing operator’s SIM (existing connection) intimating about the porting date and time, i.e. the date and approximate time till when you can continue to use your existing operator’s SIM card. There will be a 2-hour ‘no service period’ which will begin after the porting time as given above. The ‘no service period’ will be between 12 midnight to 5 am during which your mobile service will not be active on any SIM.
  • After receiving the sms just put in the new airtel sim and enjoy the airtel services.
If you encounter with any of the problems in between, you can call 98960 12345 which is the customer care number of airtel.
